Invitation to Join The Monona County Pagan's Bureau

Original  Members (L to R) Perry Fard, "Tiny" Gibbsen, Luke Tooyah, Hearst Tooyah, Carl Telluride

The Monona County Pagan's Bureau was founded in 1972 by a group of five farmers.  Although we come from various faiths and backgrounds, we found that the Pagan holidays had a special meaning for us:  they reflected the major events we experienced in our annual cycle of agriculture.

There are major Pagan celebrations for:

  • the end of winter
  • the beginning of spring and planting time
  • the middle of summer and tending of the fields
  • the completion of harvest.

In addition, we of the MCPB have created our own festival at the beginning of March, to mark the due date of farm Income Taxes.

We want to welcome new members this spring, and are particularly interested in creating a more diverse membership.

We have modified some of our rituals.  Our traditional naked Maypole dance is now a "Clothing Optional" Maypole dance to accommodate those with body image issues.

Our annual pancake breakfast will now offer gluten-free pancakes in addition to the traditional fare.

We welcome people of all faiths, nationalities, genders, and backgrounds, including Wiccans, Druids, Goddess-Worshipers, and Lutherans.

If you are interested is joining, please fill out the application form.

Thanks for your interest!
